A profile of John van Eenennaam, our Franchise Partner in Santa Ponsa, Mallorca Southwest II

John van Eenennaam, born in Vlissingen, Netherlands, has been living in Majorca’s capital, Palma, since 1991. Before moving into real estate, he was involved in the import and export of leather goods and footwear. Since 2005 he has been working as an estate agent in southwest Majorca. In 2012 he acquired the Southwest II franchise licence from Porta Mallorquina and, in June last year, he opened an estate agency on Boulevard Santa Ponsa. Together with his team (Ursula Gassner, Dieter Linder, Natalie de la Piedra and Corinna Schmid) he is responsible for the areas of Portals and Santa Ponsa. It all started in Artà

Porta Mallorquina celebrates its eighth birthday with the opening of a new property shop in its place of origin, in Artà In 2005, Joachim Semrau started a small property company called Porta Mallorquina in the first floor on the Plaza Conquistador in Artà. Now, with its 7 locations, Porta Mallorquina counts as one of the largest property agents on the island. With this new property shop in Calle Ciutat 60, directly at the entrance to the town of Artà, Porta Mallorquina has now also opened a representative property shop, in franchisor Porta Mondial’s international design, in its place of origin. Born in 1961 in Rheydt, North Rhine-Westphalia, Manfred Biedermann grew up in Bavaria and studied at the Ludwig-Maximilian University in Würzburg, graduating with a degree in Business Administration. Before moving to Majorca he was employed as a Sales and Marketing Manager with reputable national and international companies, and most recently held the position of Vice President Sales with the Amoena Group. Energy certificate mandatory for Spanish properties from 01.06.2013

Energy certificate mandatory The European energy label showing efficiency ratings from Green A (low energy requirement) to Dark Red G (high energy consumption) which you will have seen on household appliances, is now going to be mandatory for property owners wishing to sell or let their properties. With royal decree 235/2013 of 5th April, the Spanish government has extended the scope of a provision that previously applied only to new-builds, so that it now covers existing properties as well. The law is enacted with effect from 1st June and applies to all property sales and new lettings from that date.
