There is no doubt that Mallorca is more popular than ever, and commuters benefit as more and more flights are available throughout the year. No matter which city in Germany is the destination, it is no more than two or three hours away, and the proximity to the European continent<\/strong> is one of the island\u00b4s major benefits.<\/span><\/p>\n

Equally important is a creative atmosphere – for example, a trendy district for the more urban orientated, the sea or a green oasis in order to work in peace, for example, for the author and the artist.<\/span><\/p>\n

The key is an ambience from which the commuter can draw strength and which makes the permanent change of location worthwhile.<\/span><\/p>\n

A town \u2013 countryside exchange is often in high demand for people who commute! For these reasons Porta Mallorquina offers a wide range of properties – from modern, low-maintenance and easily accessible apartments to well located terraced houses, or detached houses through to romantic fincas or the stately luxury property – whatever suits your requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n

Which area of \u200b\u200bthe island is best suited for commuting?<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/h2>\n

Undoubtedly Palma …<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/h3>\n

Palma is the cultural hub of the Balearic Islands. Probably on no other European island can more galleries be found in a relatively small area, nowhere else are there more freely accessible and changing cultural events and nowhere else are more high-profile museums concentrated. The gastronomic diversity is as varied as the cultural scene and the great shopping opportunities.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can know this city for a long time and still be surprised time and again. Lots of things are always changing and Palma is never boring, because so many treasures are revealed only after years. Palma is “addictive” , no matter in which city you are otherwise at home.<\/span><\/p>\n

Good connections – with\u00a0or without a car<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n

Those who decide on Palma’s city centre do not even need a car – Son Sant Joan airport is just 10 kilometers southeast of the capital, and the airport bus No.1 leaves every 12 minutes.. From the central Pla\u00e7a Espa\u00f1a it is <\/span>only 20 minutes to the airport<\/b><\/u><\/span> <\/u>(only early departures before 7:00 can not be reached by bus, as the first bus departs at 5:30 from the ferry terminal). Those who prefer to use their own car can park at the airport on a daily basis. There are a number of providers on the airport grounds and the adjoining commercial area ready at all times with a shuttle service to and from the terminal. This service is not expensive like, for example, Airport Parking at 4 euros per day.<\/span><\/p>\n

Which districts of Palma are popular with commuters?<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n

Particularly trendy areas such as <\/span>Santa Catalina<\/b><\/span> or the <\/span>old town<\/b><\/span> are highly sought after (1). Life pulsates here and new bars, shops and galleries are constantly opening. <\/span><\/p>\n

Particularly suitable are also, thanks to easy access by the well-developed highways and country roads, the <\/span>south-west,<\/b><\/span> the <\/span>south-east<\/b><\/span>, or even the <\/span>centre of the island<\/b><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Popular with commuters are also places in the interior of the island such as <\/span>Portol, Puntiro,<\/b><\/span> Sa Cabaneta, <\/b><\/span>and<\/span> Marratxi.<\/b><\/span> Likewise, villages close to Palma with mountain flair like <\/span>Puigpunyent and Bunyola<\/b><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ma-19 motorway connects the airport with <\/span>Llucmajor<\/a> <\/b><\/span>making<\/span> <\/b>not only Llucmajor itself attractive, but also residential areas on the steep,south-eastern coast like <\/span>Bahia Grande,<\/b><\/span> Bahia Azul, Las Palmeras, Maioris, Puigderr\u00f3s<\/b><\/span> or <\/span>Sa Torre<\/b><\/span> with its beautiful villas and comfortable new apartments are popular.<\/span><\/p>\n

Algaida, <\/b><\/span>with its beautiful surrounding countryside, is also a well-liked and very authentic village for commuters. Thanks to the Manacor \u2013 Palma highway, the Ma-15, it is also only 20 minutes drive to the airport.<\/span><\/p>\n
