VAT exceptions in the purchase of property will only be valid until the end of the year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the 14th of July of 2012 and according to article No. 23 of the official state bulletin, the Spanish government has increased the VAT <strong>values as of the 1st of September of 2012<\/strong> as follows<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>General VAT: increased from 18% to 21%<\/li>\n<li>Reduced VAT: increased from 8% to 10%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_6\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\" style=\"width: 257px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.portamallorquina.com\/blog\/hallo-welt\/villa-in-puerto-andratx\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6   \" title=\"Exclusive new built villa in Puerto Andratx\" src=\"https:\/\/www.portamallorquina.com\/blog\/mallorca\/Villa-in-Puerto-Andratx.jpg\" alt=\"Villa in Mallorca\" width=\"257\" height=\"171\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Exclusive new built villa in Puerto Andratx<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The especially reduced <strong>VAT of 4%<\/strong> for the <a title=\"Further tax benefits when purchasing property in Mallorca\" href=\"https:\/\/www.portamallorquina.com\/blog\/further-tax-benefits-when-purchasing-property-in-mallorca\/\" target=\"_blank\">purchase of newly built properties<\/a> from promoters <strong>(instead of 8%)<\/strong>, will remain being valid until the remainder of the year 2012.
